.....Fibro to do?
Here's the point of this post. You have to be able to love yourself to love anyone else, correct?
So, I'm going to assume that, in spite of your Fibro - because you are NOT your Fibro - you love yourself.
Then, why do you AND I...so, why do WE often push ourselves past our limits, allow guilt to get us down, make ourselves feel that we are not doing ENOUGH, and "suffer" through flares without calling our doctor for more help? OR, just sit and relax and get some well-deserved rest, because we ARE not well, and in fact, disabled?!
If your friend, let's say BEST friend, who you love dearly, came up to you and was having a really bad day with their Fibro, what would you tell them to do?
- Rest,
- Don't stress out over what you think has to be done,
- Tell them to lay down, or sit in their most comfortable chair or recliner,
- Make them a cup of tea or their favorite warm (or cool, depending on what the weather is like) beverage,
- Give them something inspiring to read,
- Help them with some errands or housework,
- Tell them that it's perfect OK to cancel an engagement or appointment if they feel that badly....
- Etc.....
Do and would you do these things for yourself? If not, why not?
Let's give that some thought today as we go through this day. Some of us are suffering more than others. But no matter what your "level of suffering" is, give some thought of how you treat YOU in this situation.
Brings to mind a scripture verse.....Mark 12: 30-31 and pay particular attention to verse 31. Are you doing BOTH of these things.....let that sit in your mind today....meditate on that last part of the verse today.
Hmmmmm....................
Until later...........................
Blessings.................................
