....Fibro and related illnesses hoping to find something really helpful and hopeful that will just make you feel better even though you haven't even tried it yet.
Well, I found several articles recently, hoping to share them with you and that the information would be great for us in our daily challenges with Fibro.
I think I'm frustrated by what I've read more than anything else. I'm not sharing anything valuable, therefore, only what has frustrated me. : )
This one article tells you to eliminate stress, practice relaxation, do gentle exercise, take antidepressants, deep breathing, meditation, cut back on drinking and smoking, and my personal favorite.....
Try not to think about the pain by doing something you enjoy. You may not be able to avoid the pain but you can try to enjoy life more and take control of your life.
I would like to know who received payment for writing such an article.
Are they kidding? Try not to think about it?
How practical is it for us to ELIMINATE STRESS in REAL LIFE?
Maybe it's me, but most of us, can't just eliminate stress...by just quitting our jobs, going on a permanent vacation, not cooking, cleaning, or dealing with laundry, household issues, bills, financial concerns, traffic, doctor visits, etc. We can simply drop it all and meditate, do yoga, have a personal maid to take care of everything for us, so as not to have any stress in our lives and that way we can have a great attitude and deal with the pain and ENJOY our LIVES!?
HONESTLY, I read a story recently about a very successful and wealthy orthopedic surgeon in Connecticut, who's wife committed suicide because of the pain of Fibro. Tell me she didn't have the means to have the "life of leisure" that this article suggests. Why did she get so desperate that she chose to commit suicide?
We live in a real world. Maybe her spouse blew her off....told her that it wasn't real, all in her mind and that she "looked fine", while she suffered like most of us do every single day. To me there is nothing worse than NOT being taken seriously.
I'm sorry, this is really a vent, but I feel that people do not, in ANY way, understand what we are going through on a daily basis.
I feel that my new mission must be to spread the word SOMEHOW about what WE go through that no one seems to take seriously...again, "Walk ONE DAY in my shoes!?!?".
Unless I've won the LOTTO and am a multi-billionaire, I cannot just sit and relax all day and feel no stress. I can see saying "avoid" stress, but eliminating stress in this day and age is literally impossible.
Your thoughts? Are we being patronized in articles written by people who DO NOT suffer from chronic pain? I think so.
What do you DO, in the REAL WORLD to deal with your Fibromyalgia....a REAL chronic illness!
My dear Fibro friends, let's share some REAL solutions...............
Until tomorrow..........................
Blessings..................................
Mo M.
