I really don't like being negative! I DO NOT! However, today, I pushed through some cleaning and I had trouble with it.
The Pain Clinic doctor has me on steroids for my neck and back issues (degenerative disc "disease"). Although I DO love this doctor/practice, I believe that you have to be your OWN advocate. Here's the reason.
I've had endometriosis for most of my "adult" female life. I was pretty worried the past few days when that deep gnawing pain was coming back. As a matter of fact, I first went to the pain clinic 15 years ago after surgery for my "endo". The pelvic pain was disrupting my ability to work and function. Now I'm on heavy duty pain meds and I still felt this gnawing pain.
Well, I talked to a girlfriend about calling my OB/GYN, but then on a whim, I Googled the name of my steroid and pelvic pain and "voila'".....this medication, called "decadron" or dexamethasone (generic) is KNOWN to cause pelvic pain in women that are peri- or full blown menopausal!
So, my dear Fibro friends, I am going to continue the course of meds for the next day that I have left of them. I had to cancel the visit of a friend tomorrow, but she too, has Fibro and HAD Endo (hmmmm!) and is quite the understanding person when it comes to pain.
Right now, I had a nice cold drink and I'm going to shower and lay down. I can't really find the energy to do much more. It's amazing the toll that our chronic pain can take on us physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.
Please be good to yourself and if a new "symptom" pops up, I don't really recommend Google, but it's a starting point and then, just to be safe, call your doctor. If I still have pain when I'm done with this med, I WILL be calling my doc on Monday.
Until later...please relax and have a peaceful and pain FREE evening.....(or day, depending on where you are in the world!)
Blessings.............................
Mo M.
