Well, as a follow up - Fibro and exercise...

As I said in my former post, I have been away from the PC and exercise for several days....um...make that, 4 days to be exact.

So, this morning, I was feeling ...in a word....LOUSY. I slept too late, so my pills were off schedule. I felt weak and generally just plain bad. I had also been eating things that simply were not my usual/careful diet.
With that, at least for me, comes a "sick stomach" kind of feeling. I follow a pretty strict diet, so when I eat out for most of a day, I end up feeling pretty different. There is truly a connection between what you eat and how you feel for us as Fibro "fighters" ( I haven't lost my fight in spite of my feeling badly!! Nor should you!).

I knew I had to walk and, although there is no heat "warning" today with the weather forecast, it is very hot and very humid. I forced myself to go to the track.

Forced is a really mild term because I could have found a million things that I'd rather do than go there. Normally I look forward to my time walking and listening to inspirational music, etc.

I got there and took a huge drink of my water. Then, I started out.

I am here to say that it was HARD. It was REALLY REALLY HARD. I ended the first set of laps with a huge drink of water as the sweat poured off of me. I probably should have stopped then feeling a bit lightheaded. But I kept on and although I took it a bit easy I am feeling more "alive" and better than I did before the walk.

So, the moral of the story for you AND me, dear reader, is this:

Never underestimate the power of exercise to help your fibro symptoms lessen. It can make you feel less weak, less achy and a bit less "sick and tired". It is not easy, but worthwhile things tend not to be the easy things in life.

I am now drinking a TON of water to rehydrate and cooling off sitting here in the AC.

I hope you are enjoying a relatively pain free and less "fatigued" weekend. I welcome your comments on exercise and Fibro. What has been your experience with this seemingly difficult "feat"?

Blessings......be well, my dear Fibro friends....

Mo M.
