- worry (about money, marriage, kids)
- sex
- money
- God
- anger at someone or something or life in general
- myself
- my boyfriend/girlfriend
- job security - guess that also falls under worry
- health issues - guess that, too, falls under worry, depending on the situation.
"You are what you think about all day long."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Now, take the things that you worry about OR spend your time thinking about and say ...
"I am ________________________ (fill in with your thoughts)."
Or better yet, say "I am ALL ABOUT ______________." Hmmmm.
Or better yet, say "I am ALL ABOUT ______________." Hmmmm.
OK, so I'm going to tell you mine.....
"I am all about worry(ing) about money."
"I am all about worry(ing) about my husband getting a job."
"I am all about worry(ing) about all of the stuff I should be doing to make this house better, my life better, my finances better."
"I am all about worry(ing) about the fact that maybe I should PUSH myself to work so we don't lose our home."
So, my dear Fibro friends, think about what your thoughts are making you. Were they productive? Were they positive? Were they negative?
How many of you thought about how lucky you were to have shelter, food on the table, clothing to wear (even if it's not brand new designer stuff!), and a place to sleep, heat and air conditioning(if you're lucky enough to have it), and finally, running water.....?
Do you think any of us goes through our day consciously or "sub"-consciously being grateful or thanking God for what we DO have, rather than worrying about what we do not have?
I'm not going to touch the subject of sex, boyfriends, etc., because if you're thinking about those things, you probably aren't even interested in Fibro OR this post. :)
SO, what's my point?
It's this.....
Quite a while ago, I read an article that a gentleman wrote (I don't have his name but want you to know that this wasn't mine). He said that, in addition to spending quality time with the Lord first thing in the morning, when you first get up and go to the bathroom, look in the mirror (not sure why this part is important) and say "Thank you, thank you, thank you" for about a minute as you stare into the mirror. I would say that is probably saying "thank you" about 60 times. He also said to smile while you say it. Maybe that was the reason for the mirror...to remind you to smile. :)
The point is this. You are developing a habit of going through your day with NOTHING but gratitude on your subconscious (and hopefully conscious, too) mind. Gratitude is quite a bit more positive than some of the things we spending thinking about.
I've read that it takes a minimum of 21 days to develop a habit. So, for 21 days, give 5 minutes to God either before or after you say your "thank you's".
If you go through your day with a "mindset" of gratitude, you will be amazed at how well your day will go. Why not make a positive change? Put aside the worry, put aside thinking about YOURSELF, and money, or that new purse that you just HAVE to have...but cannot at all afford.
Try it! I dare you... :)
Some people might say..."Oh, that's just that positive mindset/thinking junk."
Well, REALLY? I'd much rather go through my day being positive and grateful, than worried and miserable/negative! Wouldn't you?

Blessings......be grateful for each and every ONE each and every day!
