Fibro friends, you are not alone...

My dear Fibro friends,

Last night I reached out to a good friend of mine who is a very successful VP at a very large entertainment company in NYC. If I said the name, you would know it immediately. I can't...for the time being.

She and I went to high school together. We've been friends for 35 years.

She kept asking me when we could go to dinner together or see each other and I had been putting her off because, well...the almighty dollar isn't so mighty in my house right now. :)

Believe me, I appreciate my SSDI every time I see it in my account statement. But then, when my husband lost his job, this past February, it just seemed to make me wonder how much one can take?

Back to my friend. I finally wrote to her explaining that I hadn't enough money to buy a cup of coffee at Dunkin' Donuts.

She wrote back with so many similar stories within her family of business failings, job loss and more. It was just, in a word, "overwhelming".

For those of you who are out there and suffering financial setbacks because of the economy, I ask you NOT to give up. Pray to God to help you. That is why he is there.

If you need advice on obtaining Social Security Disability, I've been there, I can give you some advice to get you started. If your spouse has lost a job, I have experience with that too, believe it or not, used to be a recruiter. But reach out, there are options out there.

DO NOT be afraid, my Fibro friends. Be strong! We can get through this together. None of us are alone.

Reach out to me, a friend, a trusted family member, a pastor or an advisor, and especially reach out to God.

He says to ask for what you need and wants you to depend on him, just like you would want a child to depend on you in a time of need! Do it!

Keep positive my friends.

Blessings......

Mo M.
