Fibro - another key I just discovered to living a good life....Part 4

Well, I've officially tried this for an entire week and I'm here to tell you, my dear Fibro friends, this to me, has made a major difference.

For every single one of us, with Fibro, SLEEP is a HUUUUUGE issue. Who would NOT agree?

SO, I've done more than my share of reading on the subject. As a matter of fact, I remembered back to my "post-partum experience" when I had my beautiful daughter. I was so run down and depressed it was beyond belief. That probably was a hint of things to come about 7 years later, when Fibro hit and was finally diagnosed. Sleep has a huge impact on how we feel emotionally and physically. Once my daughter's sleep improved, AND I went on antidepressants, I started to feel like "me" again. Well, now my dear daughter is 21 and as an aside, I see some symptoms of Fibro in her, but I hope it's just being too busy and not sleeping enough. She's "driven". ; )

Well, one of the things that I've read that keeps coming up over and over in every "expert's" recommendation is that you need to go to bed and get up at the same time EVERY DAY! This includes weekends.

So, I've tried it now for 7 days and I feel, SOOO much better for it.

STOP! Before you think this is a miracle cure...remember, there are none.

But going to bed by 11:30 and getting up by 8:15 has made my life better. First, I don't feel as sleepy throughout the day. I don't feel like I'm "wasting" the day away. I get things done early that I don't like to do and can get out and try to exercise earlier instead of waiting around. I feel like I do a little project in my house every day now and I'm making "progress" with my clutter. Well, I just feel "more a part of the world".

By the time 9 pm rolls around I'm sitting and relaxing and getting pretty sleepy. This is huge for any of you who have trouble falling asleep. For me, by 11 or 11:30 I'm totally wiped out and nothing can keep me awake.

I still DO wake up a couple/few times during the night but I don't feel as awful as I used to in the morning.

I highly recommend this idea to ANYONE with Fibro.

Please try it as soon as you can. Even if you need to make an announcement to your family/roommate/significant other, etc. that you'll be going to bed at X:XX o'clock and please keep the noise level down, etc. Get earplugs or put a fan on for "white noise". Do whatever it takes to protect this most precious commodity....SLEEP.

For us Fibro FIGHTERS....SLEEP, quality SLEEP, is one of the keys to living a good life with Fibro.

Until later.....

Blessings......

Mo M.
