I know I've been speaking on some "negative" topics lately, but, as you all know we can't be all "flowers and sunshine" every single day.
For me, today was a "bad day". It was a number of things and none of which were directly related to my fibro. HOWEVER, stress as you know, can worsen your fibromyalgia symptoms. I also feel that fibro itself makes us a bit weaker to handle those "struggles" that others might handle a bit better. We deal with pain already and when things are thrown at us, it becomes more difficult to handle them. They may upset us every more than the average healthy person.
So, what do you do when you have a bad to get yourself "back on track" and feeling better "emotionally"?
Think about it! We all need "comforts" in place that will help us "heal" at the end of a bad day. Is it watching TV? Is it writing in a journal? Is it a comfort food? Is it talking to a good friend? Is it playing a computer game? Is it reading a good book? Is it doing a puzzle that you enjoy?
We all need our time of rest and recuperation when we've had a bad and possibly upsetting day, where things seemed to conspire against us.
Step back for a moment and think how you "comfort" yourself when you've had a stressful day?
What's the best thing for you to do? What helps YOU the most?
I'd love to hear your suggestions on how you avoid a Fibro flare by caring for yourself at the end of a difficult day or week. What advice would you give someone who asked for ideas?
Blessings......
Mo M.
